Hello everyone! I have been so excited to share this with you! I get a lot of questions about my hair/hair color so I thought this would be perfect to share with you on what I have been using! Since I have been a cosmetologist going on 15 years (wow I am getting old haha) I am so picky on what I put on my hair and I have tried almost every hair color in the book. I get my hair done about twice a year and in between that I do it myself! A few months ago I discovered Madison Reed. It’s an at home step by step coloring system that anyone can use! More about that here! There are a ton of things I love about this company, but some of my favorites is their top of the line products made in Italy and they’re free of ammonia, parabens, resorcinol, PPD, phthalates, and gluten. It is crazy that it’s free of all of that stuff and it still works amazing and makes my hair look fab. Also they have colorist online that can match you up perfectly to your perfect hair color. Here is a step by step of what I use to get my hair color.
FIND YOUR PERFECT HAIR COLOR WITH MADISON REED
The cool thing about Madison Reed is it comes in a box like how it looks above. It has everything you need to apply your color. Gloves, barrier creme, you name it.
The before picture you can tell these locks need some major love. Here is what I use on my hair every month and half on my hair.
I start off by using the barrier cream around my hairline before I start so the color doesn’t get on my face.
Then I part my hair into a T part. So down the middle, straight to the back, and then behind the ear from one ear to the other. So there should be 4 sections.
Next I mix the color up and apply it to my roots. I do 1/4 inch sections. It shows the instructions on how to mix up the color so it’s easy for anyone. I am starting to get grey hair so I use permanent color on my roots and something different on my ends. I am using the color 5NA. After I apply the permanent color throughout my whole head (just on the roots), I comb it out so the color goes about an inch or two from my roots. I love their bowl and brush but you can apply it with the tube they provide in the kit!
Next I apply the gloss in the color Miele! This is my favorite part, I love the way the gloss makes my hair look and feel! They have tons of different colors to match every perfect hair color. Check them out here.
Then I apply the gloss from the mid shaft of my hair to ends. Make sure you apply it in small section. Also make sure to have enough product on my hair but not too much.
Then I let it process in their processing cap that they provide in the box, and let it sit for up to 40 minutes!
Next I shampoo and condition my hair with their amazing products, and then I end with their leave- in styling product called Tame. Check out all their great products here.
Here is the after picture! I love the way this perfect hair color goes on my hair and the gloss is seriously the best! My hair feels amazing after and my color is refreshed!
In between colors if you have any grey hair pop up, this root touch up will change your life! It instantly camouflages grey hair and stays on your hair until the next shampoo!
One thing I recommend if you love to go into a salon and don’t prefer doing it at home is using the color gloss in between appointments. It helps maintain your color longer and gives your hair that shine that you get right when you step out of the salon! I use this about once a month!
You can’t go wrong with Madison Reed. I am so picky what I use on my hair and face. I have to make sure it’s great stuff before I share it with you all! Madison Reed is a great company and product, I promise you will love it! Make sure to check them out!
