I thought that I liked camping, but after our glamping trip to Mendocito Grove, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to camp in a regular tent again! And the kids had such a ball. We took the weekend and drove a few hours up to Mendocino to the cutest little campground right on the coast. We were able to meet the owner when we first got in and she’s the sweetest.
The little safari tents have REAL beds in them (with sheets and everything!) and they’re brand new. Pretty sure they’re nicer than what a hotel would provide. They have beds for the kids too. There were picnic tables and fire pits right outside the tents, and the bathrooms were soooo nice! They even had hot showers. In the middle of the campground there were a lot of fun things for the kids to do. The had some hammocks, volleyball, horseshoe pits, just a bunch of games. They even provided breakfast in the morning, it was awesome!
At first I was worried that it wouldn’t feel like real camping, but you still totally get the outdoor feel of camping. There aren’t heaters inside the tents so it still gets cold, but they have heaters in the beds to make them warm. It was also super fun having friends right next door. There are a bunch of tents near each other, so it’s perfect to go to with family or friends.
The campground is in a great location, too. It’s in the middle of this beautiful forest of these giant redwood trees, but less than a mile away is a beautiful beach and a few miles away in the other direction are great places to eat.
It was totally magical and we would love to go back next year. If you’re in the Bay Area, you’ve got to check it out! Make sure you book soon, though, because this place gets booked up!
Thanks for stopping by! xx
