Anyone else out there dying in this heat!? It’s been so hot outside here in the Bay Area. It’s funny because we used to live in Arizona, where it gets way hotter! Now that we’ve been in California for so long, though, we’re all turning into heat wimps! I remember taking our kids to the park right after we moved here when it was 100 degrees outside and everyone thought we were crazy, but it was just what we were used to! Now it’s 100 and we don’t even feel like going outside unless you’re swimming or eating ice cream. haha
‘m getting super into home decor research on pinterest lately since we still haven’t decorated our new house yet! Can you believe it, we’ve already been here for over a month and haven’t even made a dent. I swear, we’re struggling over here! At least we’re out of boxes though, so I guess that’s a good sign.Our bedroom is going to be first this time around, so I’ll be sharing a little bit about that soon hopefully. I was checking out all the home decor goodies at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and found so many cute things that I wanted to share! A lot of the clothes are sold out already (lame!) but most of the home decor stuff is still in stock!
I found 15 awesome kids books that teach young girls how strong, courageous, and powerful they are. They are filled with girls and women of different cultures, races, interests, and achievements and all of those things are celebrated. Our girls need this empowerment.
Anyone else out there love a good facial?! I’m a big fan of facials over here. I love how fresh and rejuvenated I feel after doing a mask or a scrub, its a good way to wind down the day. Especially after all the kids go to bed and I finally have 2 seconds to myself! haha I usually just like trying out a bunch of new products to see how I like them and I just recently tried out the Wellness Wonders products at Sephora inside JCPenney.
What makes you happy? Summer time makes me SO happy! We just went on the best vacation to go see family in Utah and it was non-stop fun. I’m telling you, my kids are so bored at our house without all their cousins to play with! Luckily both Casey’s family and my family are in Utah so we were able to take one trip and see everyone. We went swimming practically every day, went to Lagoon, barbecued, and did all the fun summer stuff. My favorite part of vacations sometimes is just relaxing and not doing anything too crazy. It was such a fun few weeks and luckily the kids survived the drive without too much chaos! So we’re super tired but also really happy to be home.
First of all, we love our new neighborhood. It’s a little farther away from the highway and grocery stores, but it’s so quiet and peaceful. We’re still unpacking (of course, it will never end) but our house finally has some order to it. I am happy to announce that I’ve finally found my hair brush, so that’s good news. haha And I know where all my kids underwear is at, so that’s also good news! Baby steps!

Technology has made being a parent in the 21st century is a lot different than it was when my parents raised me. There are soooo many distractions for our kids, and it’s kind of stressful! No matter how hard we try, there is no way we’re ever going to be able to avoid the technology wave that is hitting our kids, so handling technology with my family has started to become a game of balance.
Who’s excited for the 4th of July!? My kids LOVE fireworks (who doesn’t) so they’re already pumped. I’m excited for the fireworks too, but maybe a little more excited about all the good shopping!
