I can’t believe we are in February already?! With the start of every new year I know most people try to start fresh with a healthy routine. So I thought I would share some of my best fitness tips for moms with you all to start out this new year! I have always been passionate about fitness, which started at a young age with my passion and love for dancing. Anything to get your body moving and your heart rate up will always make you feel so much better, not just physically but mentally as well! Here are some tips I swear by that just help me stay on track with a healthy balanced routine!
Best Fitness Tips for Moms
- It’s about feeling good. Don’t do diets! Instead focus on what’s good for your body. It’s a way of life, not a crash diet, that is the most effective. It’s being conscious about your health, giving your body the energy it needs, and feeling good about yourself.
- Lift weights. I try to make it to the gym at least 3-4 times a week. Sometimes that totally doesn’t happen, and sometimes I get there 5 days a week! When I work out, I do a lot more weight lifting than I used to. Because I’m eating more, I can use that energy to develop that toned (rather than skinny) look that I’m going for.
- Drink a ton of water. I try to drink at least 8 tall glasses of water a day. Something that has helped with that is that the first thing I do when I wake up is drink 1-2 tall glasses of water. It’s an easy way to get the day started off right as far as water intake.
- Get rid of the scale. BEST thing that I’ve ever done. You don’t need it- not when you’re goal is to be healthy and happy rather than skinny.
- Try New Workouts. I love trying new things and switching it up once I get bored of something! Like a yoga session, dance class, new kickboxing class, etc.! This is something I love to intermix once a week with weight lifting!
- Tell yourself at least 3 positive affirmations a day! This is key for a great mind set to get you focused day to day! Here are some of mine- 1. I can achieve anything I put my mind to. 2. Great things come my way. 3. Springer’s never quit (this is one my kids say too). 4. I radiate love and light.
