Mid-Century Boho Home Decor Ideas

A lot of you have been asking about my California home decor, so I finally put a post together for you! I was in love with our Cali home, so it was sad to take it apart and pack everything. I’m excited to decorate our new home though! It’ll take a while, but we’ll get there! Haha.
Our California home was built in the 1970s. I wanted to embrace that older California love, so that’s why I chose the mid-century modern style. It turned out to be really amazing. I wanted my home to feel calm and cozy with a splash of texture. Thanks to my favorite brands and products, I ended up with a home I absolutely loved.
Mid-Century Boho Home Decor Ideas: Dining Room
I wanted to make my dining room feel warm and inviting yet light and bright, so I mixed those two tones together! I used the plants and white curtains, accented with the black rods, to brighten up the room and the darker rug and furniture (e.g. the beverage cart) to add in the warm tones.
If you have a smaller dining area, choosing the right furniture is key because you can still make it feel spacious. We made ours feel that way with the skinnier table and chairs. That way we were able to add in the shelves without it feeling too crowded.

Mid-Century Boho Home Decor Ideas: Living Room
I love how simple it was to create my living room space. There’s really not a lot of extra things in it, creating that minimalist look. We got our sectional a few years ago and it has been amazing! It doesn’t take up too much space, but it fits all six of us on it!
I added this fun leather chair to help accent the colors. Plus, the gold stand on it ties in with the gold mirror above the mantle and the gold handles on the tv stand. I have my black coffee table on top of my light rug, bringing in another contrast, and then my throw pillows tie all of the tones together.

Mid-Century Boho Home Decor Ideas: Front Room
I was absolutely in love with my front room space! Tons of greenery from the large plant in the corner and the plants set up on the wall with my hexagon shelves and everything in between. I loved the stacked pictures look, so I got these simple frames and placed them on the mantle. The front window really brightens up this room when the sun hits just right, making this room just glow.
I added several smaller pieces to this room that really add to the overall mid-century modern vibe I was going for. For example the ladder, blanket tote, boho poufs, the textured rug, and the white fur covers on the chairs. I even added these fun textured containers on the bottom layer of the coffee table to hide away different things rather than having it all spread out on the table.
