Let’s hear it for my favorite holiday! Woo hoo! Seriously though, it’s the best excuse to start bragging about our amazing mothers and sisters and aunts and grandmas. I also love it because my kids make me breakfast in bed and they’re the cutest human beings on the planet… haha I’m excited to share with you some unique mothers day gifts for the women in your life from Nordstrom, but first I just have to talk about my amazing momma.
My mom’s name is Diane, also known as grandma. She’s the sweetest person I’ve ever known. She got married to my dad when she was 21 and got pregnant real quick with me. Hold on to your seat real quick, because I’m going to shock you for a second: my mother gave birth to 7 children. Yes, I’ll repeat that again because it’s unreal. She was pregnant 7 times and gave birth to 7 children! And raised all of those children! (Which was probably a lot harder than all the giving birth, let’s be honest. We were good kids, but there were 5 sisters living in the same house, so it could get a little feisty.) I am the oldest child, so my youngest sister is 15 now. (She was the flower girl for my wedding, that was really fun.) My mom is a major go getter and always on the go. She’s super selfless and always thinks about other people and takes care of everyone around her. She has 8 grandchildren and is the best grandma for my 3 stinkers. Honestly, she spoils them rotten but of course they love it. She sends them little packages for all the holidays. She’s the kind of grandma that parties with her grandkids and stays up with them until midnight eating candy. I hope that I can become the kind of mom that always puts her kids first before anything else like she does. Ask anyone, it’s all about the kids for her. What a rock star! Love you mom!
