I’ve got secrets, hair secrets! Ok they aren’t really secrets, but just some things I do to make my hair look the way it does. I get a lot of messages and people asking about my hair, and I can’t always get back to everyone so I thought I would do a quick post about it instead. First off I don’t talk about this a lot but I have been a hairstylist for over 15 years, and the last year or so I have been blogging full time and don’t do as much hair and lashes like I use too. I still take some of my hair extension clients and that’s about it. I do miss being in a salon and doing hair and lashes, but nothing is better then working from home with my kids. So what I am getting at is I have had a lot of practice in the hair department! So I have a few tricks that I have up my sleeve. Anyways so here are my most asked questions about my hair answered.

  1. Do I wear hair extensions?–  The answer is yes. I use the Keratin fusion ones from Laced hair extensions (my favorite brand). I just have a few in the front area for thickness. So like 10 little pieces around the face and that’s it! The reason why I do this is because as you get older and have babies you start thinning out, especially around the face. So that’s why I wear hair extensions around the face for added thickness! It amazing what a few pieces of hair extensions can do to you hair even though I naturally have thick hair the extension make is that much better, It makes a HUGE difference. I do all methods of hair extensions but the reason why I love the Keratin fusion in my hair is they last up to five months. I am all about what’s easy and low maintenance these days! I am doing a hair extension post so let me know what you want to know about them!
  2. Where do you get your hair colored and how do they color it?– Since I’m a hairstylist I actually do it myself most of the time and then twice a year when I’m back in Utah visiting my family, I have my friend Jordan touch it up for me (she is amazing). Because it’s so hard to get the back of my hair, etc. When we do my hair we do the roots with a 5 and 4 N and then we hight lights and paint my mid shaft to my ends with bleach 30 or 40 vol- just because I have such dark hair we don’t want to pull any orange! Then we end it with a toner! Depending on what color my hair is and how brassy it turned out we will determine the toner. I love the 9t from Redken shades.  I apply it with damp hair and let it sit for a few minutes. This is a great toner for anyone wanting to get rid of orange, brassy tones. But you have to watch it when it’s on the hair and not go passed a few minutes or it can turn your hair a weird color!
  3. How do I curl my hair and what products do I use?– I don’t normally blow dry my hair, in this post I talk about how I air dry my hair instead (going to update this post soon, it’s so old). It really works wonders if you air dry your hair this way. This is how I normally curl my hair here and the key is using a curling wand and leaving your ends out! As far as products go I switch them up quite a bit. I always seem to go back to the Pureology moisture shampoo and conditioner, but I also love the Big Sexy hair (more about them from this post), especially love them when I do my hair straight. I also love “it’s a 10” leave in conditioner! And always use a hair smoothing serum, I love this one!  I can’t leave home without my hair products! If I try to blow dryer or air dry my hair without my leave in products they don’t look as good. Leave in products are a must so make sure you always use them for every hair type!

I hope that answers a lot of your questions! I am going to have another post that goes into more details on my hair tips and tricks, so stay tuned! Also on hair extensions too! Let me know if you have any more questions and I can add them to my posts coming up! Happy Friday friends, thanks for reading! xx,

Si las extensiones son geniales, yo también las tengo por el tema del volumen. Voy a ver los otros post sobre el cabello que me interesan pero tienes una melena preciosa.
