Today is National Best Friends Day!
My best friend is my cousin Ashley- she’s so hilarious. I lived with her on and off after high school until I was around 24. We’re like sisters. She knows everything about me and we have so many inside jokes. When we lived together we did so many fun things, stayed up late way too many times, and went on tons of trips together. I love that she likes to relax and have lazy days just like me. One of our favorite things to do was watch movies and eat snacks at her parents place literally all day long. haha We probably did that at least once a month. Don’t judge us!
I went on the best trip to the MacKenzie-Childs headquarters a few weeks ago and we made the cutest things for our best friends.

Their headquarters are located in upstate New York in Aurora. If you haven’t heard of MacKenzie-Childs, they are a high end company with the cutest whimsical home decor, dinnerware, home furnishings, and tons more. Their dinnerware is so beautiful and organic and the quality is amazing. They hand make and paint all of the products they make in Aurora, and they’re one of the only remaining large scale companies in the U.S. that still hand makes ceramics. Pretty awesome!
We stayed in a beautiful home in Aurora owned by the Inns of Aurora (which you can rent if you ever go, I would highly recommend!) Every room was so beautiful and had it’s own theme. My room had an amazing view of the Cayuga Lake. I stayed in the home with about 7 other bloggers that I didn’t know, but we became such good friends. They are all so sweet and I am excited to get together with them again soon. It was really fun to be on such a cool trip to get to know these amazing ladies.
We went on a tour of all the MacKenzie-Childs inns and homes in Aurora and toured the MacKenzie-Childs factory and Victorian Farmhouse. It was so fun seeing how they made all their dishes and furniture! It made me love their products even more because you can see how much care was put into everything that was made. It totally makes sense why their price point is higher, because everything takes so long and so much skill to make. If you’re ever in the area, you have to go on the Farmhouse tour!

After all the fun tours, we were able to try our hand at making a few things to give to our best friends. I made a bowel and platter (I decided to give her the platter because the bowel didn’t turn out so great haha) and we made some hand made cards. It’s not easy, you guys! I am so impressed with all the designers and artists that work on the MacKenzie-Childs products.
Thank you for the fun trip MacKenzie-Childs! I had so much fun getting to know all the incredible influencers on our trip and made some amazing friends along the way. Check out my top 10 gifts for you best-friends from MacKenzie-Childs.
Happy National Best Friends Day everyone!
Thanks for stopping by! xx
