I’m already mentally preparing myself for school to be out this summer. Summer vacation always comes so fast! I thought I’d share some unique summer activities to do with kids to keep your family busy this summer break.

7 SUPER FUN SUMMER ACTIVITIES TO DO WITH KIDS

1. Berry Picking– We went to Chan’s U-pick strawberry farm in Brentwood and it was a blast! The kids loved seeing who could pick the most strawberries, and of course snacked on a few while they were at it (don’t tell). Nothing beats those fresh strawberries, they’re so good! Just be warned, though, the kiddos will probably get pretty dirty out there. Remember to dress them in clothes that they can get messy in. We learned this the hard way- just check out the strawberry stain that I got on Londyn’s new cute jumper!

2. Backyard Campout– This is always a favorite for the kiddos! You don’t even have to go anywhere special, just throw the tent up in the back yard and they’ll love it. (Just remember to turn the sprinklers off if you have them scheduled for nights- we learned that one the hard way! lol)

3. TieDye– If your kids are a little older, grab some white T-shirts and dye and do some tie-dyeing in the back yard! It’s a fun little creative project that they can wear later for bed time or something.

4. Visit a Local Farm– Look on google for local farms or petting zoos in your area. My kids don’t even have to go all the way to the real zoo, they love looking at farm animals like cows and sheep. It’s also a lot cheaper!

5. Home Depot Workshops– Home Depot does some of the cutest little workshops for kids, and they’re FREE! There are a variety of different workshops, just look into your local Home Depot and register online.

6. Star Gazing– Let your kids have a night out and drive up into the hills to look at the stars. You could even get them ready by teaching them the names of some constellations! Snacks are also always a good idea. 🙂

7. Slip ‘n Slide– Set up a backyard slip ‘n slide with a tarp and a hose! It’s super easy, and if you want a little extra slip, throw some Dawn soap out there! If you have a little bit of a slope in your yard it works best, but flat slip ‘n slides are awesome too.
