LONDYN GRACE BIRTH STORY

Hey guys! If you didn’t already know, I had baby number 3 last Wednesday on 3/29 at 3:29 am. I was exactly 37 weeks and she came unexpected. Kind of a funny birth story and honestly it was deja vu in a way. So here it goes. I had my 37 week check up with the doctor on Tuesday, March 28th. Before my appointment I had a scheduled ultrasound. I have been getting frequent ultrasounds the last few months to make sure my fluid wasn’t too low because my fluid was low with my son Rowen and they had to induce me at 37 weeks. So we were doing the same thing to make sure it didn’t happen again.  I go to the ultrasound and they are checking the fluid and it was taking longer then normal. She said your fluid isn’t dangerous low but not where we want it so we want to induce you today to have this baby. I didn’t think it was going to happen again so I was kind of freaking out because I didn’t have a lot ready, thinking I had a couple more weeks to prepare. Not even my hospital bag was packed. Casey even forgot I had an appointment so I called him and he was in the middle of a busy day at work and I said we are having this baby today so you have to get home. I was not dilated at all and I was doing a v-back. I had Rowen normal and Lettie was breached (more on her birth story here) so I had to do a c-section, but I wanted to do vaginal again. There are risks involved sometimes when you do this so I was a little nervous. They put a ballon like thing inside me to get me dilated and said go home and get your bags packed and figure out sitters for your kids. Meet us at the hospital in an hour. I called my mom and she found the earliest flight she could. My amazing friend came and got the kids and off we went.

I got there around 2:00 and I was starting to feel some strong contractions. A few hours after they put the ballon like thing in I was dilated to a 3. They then started me on the pitocin to get me going and last time I was on that with Rowen I dilated super quick. I started to feel strong contractions so I decided to get a epidural. The anesthesiologist came in and I thought I was going to be numb soon. Well it didn’t work for some reason and I felt a lot of pain. They broke my water and gave me a catheter and I felt all of that. After they broke my water the contractions were crazy strong and super painful. I kept thinking the epidural was going to work but nothing was happening. Finally the anesthesiologist came back in and realized something was wrong and it didn’t take. At this point I was dying with pain and already to a 7. So I just asked her to give me another one. So I finally got another epidural and the pain was so much better 30 minutes later. I honestly look up to anyone that goes natural. An hour went by and I was at a 10 and ready to push. The doctor came in and she was out in less than 30 minutes. It went by so fast. They said because I wasn’t dilated that I was going to be in labor for a full day but it was only like 12 hours. There is no greater feeling in this world then meeting your baby for the first time. It brought tears to our eyes and we were overwhelmed with joy. Another cool thing is my mom made it in time to see her be born so that was fun to experience that with her also. Casey and I feel so blessed to add another little one to our family.

She was 5lbs 10 oz and 18 inches long. She is so little and skinny. She looks so much like how Rowen and Lettie did when they were a baby . The only thing different is she had a little more hair then they did and it’s a little bit darker. She is such a sweet little thing and has been a good baby so far (knock on wood). The only thing is she likes to sleep all day and party all night, haha. I’m trying to get her adjusted. We had a hard time decided on a name for her. They wouldn’t let us leave the hospital without a name, so literally right before we left, we decided on Londyn Grace. Londyn was always on the list for her but we weren’t 100% on it till we saw her and she just looked like a Londyn to us. We are so in love with her and so happy she is here safe and sound. I honestly love these birth days and feel so blessed to be her mama. We are overwhelmed with joy and love this little piece of heaven in our home. Thank you all for the love and support we have received and for reading our birth story. You guys are the best! xx,
