Dance Fashion..

For those of you that didn’t know, it’s National dance Day tomorrow so I thought it would be perfect time to do a Dance Fashion post. I have so many people that always ask why dancers, especially hip-hop dancers, dress the way they do! I don’t blame them! If I didn’t have anything to do with dance, I would probably think the same thing!  Most hip hop dancers dress similar. If you watch my favorite show So You Think You Can Dance, or any other hip-hop performance, you’ll probably see something similar to these outfits.

These girls are my dance girls! I have danced with some of these girls for years! Moving has been hard because I went from dancing 2-3 times a week to… nothing and I miss these girls :(. We took these pictures a couple of months ago after a performance we did! I am sure you have seen these  MC Hammer/ Harem pants. It seems like every hip hop dancer I know these days has at least one pair! I think it’s because they are so soft and easy to move in like sweats, but they give you different look from everyday normal sweats. They are great to practice and perform in. Leggings are always a great thing to wear dancing, not only  because they are easy to move in but they are perfect if you need to have a costume change. You just throw on pants right over them. The bright and funky ones are my favorite!  Boots are a must-have. They give you a more hip-hop look, and they actually are great to dance in because they grip the floor, so you can move with out feeling unstable! Jackets are the best. They are a easy outfit to change during a performance and they just make the outfit look that much better!!

Here are some of my favorite hip hop videos ever here and here

What are some of your favorite dance styles? I hope you all have a great weekend and don’t forget to celebrate National Dance Day tomorrow 😉

Thanks for stopping by. xoxo

Love,

LaTisha
