Since summer is right around the corner I thought this would be the perfect time to share my top 3 tips for healthy hair! Summer is always a great time to embrace your natural texture.
3 Tips for Healthy Hair
Air dry your hair!
Air drying is so easy and so much healthier for your hair than using heat to try it. After much trial and error, I finally figured out the best way to get frizz-free, shiny air-dried hair!
1. Shampoo and condition your hair (with natural products like Hair Food, more below). Always rinse your conditioner with a cool rinse. It closes the cuticle so it helps with frizz and keeps your hair looking shiny.
2. When you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair so it’s not dripping wet, but you don’t want it really dry either. Part your hair where you like it. I like using products like leave in conditioner and hair serum, Hair Food has some really good ones here! (Some of my favorites are the Avacado & Argan Oil Hair Mask and Hair Oil! So good!)
3. Then the most important step… DON’T TOUCH IT at all until it’s dry. That means hands off until its completely dry. Touching it makes it frizzy. The more you touch, the frizzier it gets. While its drying, it might feel like its not air drying well so you will naturally want to scrunch it, but don’t. When it dries 100% hands free, you will love it, I promise!
4. When it’s completely dry, I will leave it how it is or I will curl a few little pieces if it needs it.
Use good, all-natural products in your hair!
The products that you use on your hair are game changers! Your hair will stay healthy and shiny for so much longer if you use good products. I love Hair Food because the ingredients are so good that you could practically eat it. There are no sulfates, dyes, parabens, mineral oils or silicone in their products. You can use it on kids too!
Utilize your natural oils.
Wash your hair less! Every time you wash your hair, you’re stripping yourself of all the natural oils that keep your hair moisturized. I wash my hair probably only once or twice a week, and use dry shampoo as needed (I love this coconut dry shampoo from Hair Food). One tip that I’ve learned to help keep my hair moisturized and to reduce greasy roots is to brush your hair every night, because it disperses the oils throughout your hair to moisturize the ends.
I have been doing all of these things for years, and I swear by these 3 steps tips for healthy hair and natural looking waves! I’m linking all of the products that I used in this post below! I love that they’re all natural and so good for your hair! You ladies definitely need to try them out! They’re at Target, so put them on your list for your next Target run!
Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks love!! You could do this its works on all types of hair!! I think you would love it! Xo
I wish my hair air dried like this!! I have naturally wavy hair but it isn’t straight at the roots like yours. Even if I do air dry, I end up having to flat iron the top pieces around my face which have weird, uneven curls.

At what point do you comb it out? Before drying or after?
Author
You can do either! You can comb it out right when you get out of the shower before you start air drying, or you need to wait until it is completely dry before you comb it out! You can also just curl it after it has completely dried without combing it at all, those will all work!
